Privacy Policy
ActuallyHiring is a small, independently run site. This page describes, in plain language, what information the site actually collects today. It is not a substitute for legal advice.
If you sign in, you do so with Google. Signing in shares your name, email address, and profile photo with us; we store that in your account record so we can recognize you on future visits. We never see or store your Google password.
Anything you add while signed in — your job-search profile, saved searches, applications you're tracking, and any ratings or reports you leave on a listing — is stored against your account so it's there the next time you sign in. It is never sold, and we don't share it with employers or anyone else. If you'd like your account and its data deleted, contact us and we'll remove it.
We record a basic pageview (which page, and when) for every visit, signed in or not, so we can see how the site is used. We don't log IP addresses or browser/device details alongside those pageviews. When enabled, we also use Google Analytics for the same general purpose (understanding traffic to the site), which works differently: it runs in your browser and is governed by Google's own privacy practices, not ours.
If you use the contact form, the name, email, and message you provide are emailed directly to us so we can respond — they aren't added to any marketing list. The form also runs a spam check (Cloudflare Turnstile, when enabled) that shares your IP address with Cloudflare, and a check that your email domain can actually receive mail.
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and, only within the separate admin area, a short-lived admin login cookie. Cloudflare Turnstile (when enabled) may also set its own cookie as part of its spam check on the contact form, and Google Analytics (when enabled) sets its own cookies to distinguish visitors. We don't use cookies for third-party advertising.
A few outside services help run the site: Google (sign-in, and analytics when enabled), Resend (delivering emails you send us or that we send you), Cloudflare (spam protection on the contact form), and Railway (hosting the app and its database). Each only receives what it needs to do that specific job.
ActuallyHiring publishes reputation scores about employers, computed from aggregate application outcomes and candidate reports (see how scores are calculated). Those scores are about companies, not about you, and don't identify who contributed to them.
For anything about this policy or your data, use the contact page. This policy may be updated as the site changes; the version here always reflects current practice.
